Tape Repair Service

£10.00

DON’T PANIC !

If your tape is unfortunate enough to not play correctly then don’t worry our experts will carry out a repair on it to recover any usable footage.

This includes tapes which have jammed, have excess mould or snapped tapes.

Video (VHS, Hi8, Betamax MiniDV etc) or Audio Cassettes

The repair charge is in addition to the digital conversion charge.

Please Note: Hi8 and MiniDV tapes are among the most difficult tape formats to repair. Once these tapes begin to deteriorate, crease, or split, there is unfortunately a high chance that a successful repair will not be possible.

This is because both Hi8 and MiniDV use extremely thin, delicate tape designed to fit a large amount of data into a very small cassette. The tape is much narrower than VHS, Video8 or Betamax, making it far more susceptible to stretching, tearing and damage. In the case of MiniDV, the recordings are digital, meaning even the smallest amount of damage can result in complete loss of picture or sound.

Most other tape formats, such as VHS, VHS-C, Video8, Betamax and audio cassettes, use wider, more robust tape. This generally makes them much easier to repair successfully, even if the tape has snapped or become damaged.

While we always do our very best to recover your recordings, we cannot guarantee especially that Hi8 or MiniDV tapes can be repaired if they have already begun to deteriorate.
